Duties: This job entails a variety of work on a tug and barge servicing fish farms: loading and unloading freight and totes of dead fish. The work schedule is irregular, but steady employment. The employee must be available at times on short notice and be able to go overnight for several days.
Requirements: Preference will be given to applicants who have deckhand experience working on marine vessels, preferably on tugboats. Must be able to tie boat knots, and be limber and quick. Must have, or be willing to acquire a Marine Radio operator’s license, Domestic Vessel Safety ticket and possibly more. Competency to take a wheel turn and knowledge of navigation and waterways is essential. Past experience working in the fish farm industry is an asset. Must be physically strong, and enjoy working outdoors. -Non smoker preferred. -Drugs and alcohol are prohibited while on the vessel or at job sites.
