Duties: JOB DESCRIPTION: POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The role of a Christmas administrative clerk is to assist in all aspects of the Christmas Campaign. BASIC FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class: • Performs general office duties such as filing, photocopying and reception responsibilities • Performs various bookkeeping duties such as receipting and deposits • Maintains Kettle Preparation (ensuring kettle kits are stocked and ready) • Maintains the Kettle Counting Process, ensuring supplies are ready and needs are addressed • Maintains databases as needed, including data entry • Handles and ensures the protection of extremely confidential and sensitive employee/Officer, client and or program files and information • Represents the Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner • Performs other duties as assigned NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Education/Certifications: • The successful job applicant will have completed High School Required Skills/Knowledge: • To be willing to adapt to changes and interruptions in your normal work routine • The ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to information relating to employment • A willingness to work with individuals or groups of differing backgrounds and cultures other than your own • A willingness to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness • An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada • Must have basic computer knowledge and word processing skills • Must be a self-motivated multi-tasker who is able to work independently and as part of a team Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide: • Background check consent • A clear vulnerable sector screening • A clean drivers abstract • Completion of our online training and required Health and Safety training The Salvation Army will accommodate candidates as required under applicable human rights legislation.
