Conduct a literacy needs assessment through engagement with community members and front line workers in the educational / social service fields. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with literacy stakeholders. Support established literacy initiatives in the community. Raise awareness of literacy needs among the population at large. Produce and update the Comox Valley Community Literacy Plan with input from relevant stakeholders. Hold a minimum of 3 meetings of community partners in the literacy field. Work to raise the profile of the importance of literacy in the community as a whole.
Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work independently to facilitate and manage projects. Awareness of outcome measurement frameworks and program development. Familiarity with educational programs and social services in the Comox Valley an asset. Experience working with persons from diverse backgrounds an asset. An inclusive and respectful approach to collaboration.
