* Processes raw materials by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, loading and baling the donations; protects the integrity of the donations * Selects donations for store distribution meeting established standards of quality and distinguishing between discarded and good quality merchandise according to company standards * Meets assigned daily targets; counts, weighs and records incoming and outgoing donations * Complies with all safety procedures and in/outdoor tidy maintenance guidelines * Operates warehouse equipment such as baler, compactor, forklift and conveyor * Performs other duties as assigned
1. To have the ability to sustain a daily routine of heavy lifting, reaching and bending. 2. To be willing to adapt to changes and interruptions in your normal work routine 3. The ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to information relating to employment. 4. A willingness to work with individuals or groups of differing backgrounds and cultures other than your own. 5. A willingness to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness. 6. An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada 7. Forklift Ticket is required (or willing to obtain). 8. Current First Aid with CPR is considered an asset. 9. Steel toed footwear required.
Training to start ASAP. 10 weeks medical leave coverage and then casual coverage for vacations & sick times.
