Workers use a number of strategies to support children/youth and families; Referrals come from the Ministry of Children and Family Development. One key aspect is to supervise visits between parents and children where there are child protection concerns. Other responsibilities include: * Teaching behaviour management techniques and positive parenting skills to families struggling to manage their childrens behaviour or having identified child protection concerns * Provide resources and services to stabilize families in crisis. * Provide goal focused brief intervention. * Assess strengths and needs of the families. * Work with at-risk and marginalized families within the community * Work with families from diverse cultural backgrounds * Maintain files in accordance with the accreditation standards.
Qualifications: * Minimum of a diploma in a related area (e.g. social work, child and youth care, psychology) and 2-years experience in the field of family and children services, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Knowledge of child development, positive parenting and family dynamics. * Knowledge of behaviour management techniques * Maintain current First-Aid * Vehicle required with business insurance
