Wage: $14.60 per hour + 6% vacation pay
Hours: casual/on-call
Duties: POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The role of a warehouse worker is to assist in the efficient and effective reclamation, processing or distribution of warehouse goods. BASIC FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class: • Processes raw materials by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, loading and bailing the donations; protects the integrity of the donations • Selects donations or store distribution meeting established standards of quality and distinguishing between discarded and good quality merchandise according to company standards • Meets assigned daily targets; counts, weighs and records incoming and outgoing donations • Complies with all safety procedures and in/outdoor tidy maintenance guidelines • Operates warehouse equipment such as baler, compactor, forklift and conveyor • Performs other duties as assigned NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Education/Certifications: • Forklift Ticket is required (or willing to obtain) • Current certification in First Aid/CPR is considered an asset • Steel toed footwear is required Required Skills/Knowledge: • To be willing to adapt to changes and interruptions in your normal work routine • The ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to information relating to employment • A willingness to work with individuals or groups of differing backgrounds and cultures other than your own • A willingness to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness • An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide: • Background check consent • A clear vulnerable sector screening • A clean drivers abstract • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
