Employment insights needed now and for the future

2023 Employment Engagement Project

The Creative Employment Access Society (CEAS) has served the Comox Valley for over 34 years, with the main goal of understanding the needs of employers and employees and then meeting those needs.  CEAS is currently working on developing a five-year strategy which will outline the key activities CEAS will take to help employers and employees in the job market. If you’re an employer or a job-seeker, we value your insights, perspectives, and experiences to help make sure our strategy will meet the current and future needs of the Comox Valley.

See the complete list of CEAS programs and services here.

Engagement – how it works

To better understand the employment needs, barriers and employment outlook in the Comox Valley, CEAS invites job seekers, employees, employers, and local community service organizations to provide their input on the CEAS strategy. Delaney, the engagement people, is an experienced engagement and communications firm who will be helping CEAS connect and learn from the Comox Valley community.

There are multiple ways to share your perspective:

Community Service Organizations

During our conversations we will be asking questions related to:

  • Employment needs of jobseekers, employees, and employers.
  • Barriers to employment
  • Perspectives on the Comox Valley Labour Market and future employment outlook
  • Your experience with CEAS programs and services and opportunities for future support.

*Please note: an employer is anyone who is a business owner or employed manager/director/administrator in charge of employment within an organization or business.

Focus Group and Interview Honorarium

We value your time. As a jobseeker, we will provide a $50 honorarium for each participant in a one-hour focus group and a $25 honorarium for completing a half-hour individual interview.

As a Comox Valley employer or community service organization representative, CEAS will provide a $25 food bank donation in appreciation of your participation in a one-hour focus group or half-hour interview.

Delaney, the engagement people, will collect participant names and emails in order to issue the honorarium payment.  Please note your input will not be associated with your name or contact details.

Gift Card for Questionnaire Submissions

Each jobseeker who completes our online questionnaire can present proof of completion to the CEAS office and receive a $5 Thrifty Foods Gift Card. Further instructions on how to receive your gift card will be provided at the end of the questionnaire.
