Wage: $15.65 per hour + 6% vacation pay
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Duties: POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The role of the Christmas kettle worker is to represent The Salvation Army at the various kettle locations. BASIC FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class: • Staff the Christmas kettle stand • Positively acknowledge the public as they make their donations • Answer questions or provide direction to someone who can • Show courtesy and appreciation • Be prompt for scheduled shifts • Maintain the security of the kettle until relieved at shift change or until a Salvation Army representative picks up the kettle
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Required Skills/Knowledge: • To be willing to adapt to changes and interruptions in your normal work routine • The ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to information relating to employment • A willingness to work with individuals or groups of differing backgrounds and cultures other than your own • A willingness to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness • An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada The Salvation Army will accommodate candidates as required under applicable human rights legislation.
