Duties: We have openings in the Comox Valley and various other locations across BC for direct entry into Insulator (Heat & Frost) aka: Mechanical Insulator Trade. Are you working in construction but you want to make your hours count towards a real career plan and higher wages and benefits? This opportunity is direct-entry, meaning you do not need to enroll in school prior to starting. You will earn while you learn. Start earning immediately and attend school later in the year. About 11 months of the year successful applicants are working, and about 1 month per year they to school for training. After as little as 4 years they could become a Red Seal Journeyperson.

Requirements: -Legal entitlement to work full-time in Canada -Reliable Transportation to get to job sites -Construction Related experience or safety tickets are an advantage

Notes: The union will be doing basic phone screening first then passing the resumes on to the hiring manager to follow up on. The hiring company for this area is Aarc-West Mechanical Insulation. Applicants are also able to apply directly to the Aarc-West office in Victoria if they wish to do so. Start rate is $24.00/hr. Union Benefits & Pension after 6 months. Journeyperson rate (reached in 4 years or sooner) is $35.31/hr + . The union would be the apprenticeship sponsor.
