Companion Care Provider

Wage: $22–$28/hr
Hours: As per our clients needs
Duties: Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction
Drive seniors safely to appointments, errands, activities and outings
Accompany clients throughout appointments and community activities
Take seniors on walks, outdoor adventures and nature outings
Accompany clients to golf, social activities and local events
Assist with grocery shopping and other errands
Support seniors in maintaining independence and community connections
Assist with activities of daily living as required
Prepare meals and assist with feeding when appropriate
Provide light housekeeping and laundry
Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavier physical assistance when required
Engage clients in activities that promote mental stimulation and social connection
Support individuals living with dementia or cognitive changes
Follow individual care plans while respecting client preferences, dignity and independence
Observe and report changes, concerns or safety issues to the appropriate family member or healthcare professional
Follow company safety procedures, policies and care protocols
Work independently while communicating effectively with the caregiving team
Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts
Be healthy and fit to keep up with our clients when on outings
Requirements: Non-Negotiable Requirements
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
Fluent written and oral English
Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts
Excellent reliability, attendance and punctuality
Ability to safely participate in walks, outings and active activities
Clean criminal record
Vulnerable Sector Check
Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to safely assist with mobility and transfers, including heavier physical assistance when required

Caregiving training
Registered Care Aide certification
Medication administration training
Other relevant certifications
Lived caregiving or support experience
Understanding of dementia or cognitive changes
Company vehicles are provided during shifts, but employees must have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
