Wage: $54,000–$59,000/year – independent contractor

Hours: Weekday morning and evening support, overnight care + approximately 1 weekend/month

Duties: - Provide a safe, welcoming and supportive home environment - Assist with personal care, dressing, toileting and daily routines - Assist with mobility, including walker and wheelchair use - Prepare meals and support healthy everyday routines - Drive to and from her weekday day program and other activities - Support appointments, community outings and recreational activities - Help her maintain an active, enjoyable and independent life - Coordinate schedules, appointments and other day-to-day needs - Complete basic computer-based paperwork and documentation - Communicate regularly with family and the support team - Maintain a clean, organized and accessible home environment

Requirements: - Must live in the Comox Valley - Must have a suitable home for her to move into and share with you - Home must be reasonably accessible, ideally level entry or only 1–2 steps - Valid driver’s licence and reliable four-door vehicle - Experience in disability support, caregiving, HCA, nursing, senior care or a related field - Physically able to safely assist with mobility and personal care - Warm, patient, dependable and professional - Highly organized and able to manage appointments and schedules - Comfortable using a computer, email and Google Drive - Strong communication and decision-making skills - Able to work independently while collaborating with family and the support team - This position must be your primary professional commitment and is not suitable for someone maintaining another regular job

Notes: This is a Home Share position supporting a warm, social middle-aged woman with cerebral palsy and a developmental disability. She loves being around people, has a great sense of humour and enjoys being part of everyday life. She would move into and share the successful applicant’s home. She attends a day program Monday–Friday and has approximately 3 respite weekends per month, providing significant built-in personal time. This is a well-compensated independent contractor position with an immediate start.
