Duties: Island Access Ltd. is a community based organization providing individualized support to adults with diverse abilities in the Comox Valley. We are a small team of 8 outreach workers that work as a supportive group. The team is composed of experienced, dedicated staff—many of whom are long time veterans of our program. We value professionalism, compassion, and a collaborative approach that ensures each Individual receives consistent, meaningful support. We maintain a welcoming office environment with accessible facilities, private meeting spaces, and dedicated computer areas for both staff and Individuals. Position Overview Support Workers at Island Access assist Individuals in achieving their personal goals, increasing independence, and participating fully in their community. This role involves direct support, documentation, collaboration with the team, and maintaining strong relationships with Individuals and their designated supports. The position we are advertising for now is a parttime position that can grow to fulltime. Key Responsibilities Provide person centered support to Individuals in community and home settings Assist Individuals with daily living skills, community inclusion, appointments, and goal oriented activities Maintain accurate Running Records after each meeting or outing Communicate effectively with the Team Uphold agency policies, Community Living BC (CLBC) standards, and confidentiality requirements Engage in ongoing professional development, courses, and seminars (funding available where applicable)

Requirements: Qualifications Experience supporting adults with diverse abilities (preferred) Valid BC driver’s licence and reliable vehicle Clear Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector) Willingness to participate in mentoring, shadowing, and training with senior staff Ability to maintain professional documentation and follow agency procedures
