Carmichael Enterprises Residential Programs Ltd. is a CARF accredited organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of persons served. Our skilled teams of residential support workers provide support to youth and adults with developmental delays, mental health concerns, and often severe behavioral challenges including aggression. We are currently accepting resumes for Casual Residential Support Worker positions if you feel this may be the position for you. Opportunities for part-time and full-time (with benefits) positions are offered internally as they arise. Job shadows (maximum 12 hours) will be requirement prior to an offer of employment and will be paid at our pre-employment training rate. Job Description: Oversees the overall care of persons served in the home. Participates as part of the team responsible for the efficient functioning of residence operations on both an individual and group basis. The Residential Support Worker enhances and rehabilitates the quality of life for persons served by ensuring that their placement, social, educational, health, emotional/behavioral, and cultural needs are met. Case management, life skills support, behaviour management, hygiene assistance, medications, and community inclusion are all aspects of this position. Transfers, catheter and bowel management protocols, and seizure monitoring may be a part of our clients' care. Our approaches are strength-based and client centered in order to optimize the chances to achieve the individual goals of our persons served. Must be available for day, evening, and overnight shifts including weekends and statutory holidays.
Applicant Requirements: Education, training, and /experience working with persons with developmental delays and behavioral challenges Current clear RCMP Criminal Record Check BC Class 5 Drivers License Valid First Aid certificate (First Aid - Community Care Facilities preferred) After being hired additional requirements include: Physician's Declaration, current immunization records including clear TB test, Driver's abstract, and SIVA training (provided by Carmichael Enterprises Residential Programs Ltd.)
